In accordance with CDC and CDPH guidance, doses allocated to Monterey County to date have been prioritized for individuals who have had close contact with an individual diagnosed with monkeypox virus and for immunocompromised individuals with certain risk factors for exposure.
When CDPH increases monkeypox vaccine allocations to Monterey County, the Health Department will increase availability to additional CDC priority populations. Strategies may include making monkeypox vaccine available at community venues. The Health Department will share additional information as it becomes available.
In addition, Monterey County Health Department will prioritize first doses of vaccine to as many at-risk people as possible and will defer second dose appointments until sufficient supply is available. Second doses may be administered after the minimum interval of four weeks without having to restart the series.

Supply of the JYNNEOS vaccine is extremely limited. Until we receive more supply, we are maintaining a vaccination waitlist. As soon as supply is replenished, we will call you to offer available appointment times.

West County Health Centers will be hosting vaccine clinics 8/1 and 8/5 from 5:30-7:30PM. First come, first serve (no registration).
Sonoma County Department of Health Services has received the Jynneos vaccine from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) to distribute to counties for preventative use in people who are at high risk because they were notified of an exposure within the past 14 days.
We are working with healthcare systems to expand the locations of vaccines to their members and patients, while ensuring an equitable distribution to people who are uninsured, disconnected from care, or are from underserved communities. Please reserve vaccines for people at higher risk as supplies are currently limited.
Number listed is for Fairfax County Call Center. Call center staff will send a link to a screening form and those who are eligible will then be put into a queue to schedule a vaccination appointment as vaccines become available.
